Candice Richins – Hygienist

Speciality Hygienist

Education Arizona at Mesa Community College

Work Days Monday – Friday

Candice was born and raised in Claremont, California. She attended Cal State Long Beach for her undergraduate degree and then completed her hygiene degree here in Arizona at Mesa Community College. She wanted to be a hygienist because it would maximize her face-to-face interactions with patients, which is her favorite part of being in the dental field. She loves being able to help patients manage their dental anxiety and help them return to a state of oral health that they did not previously know was possible.

While in hygiene school, Candice served as the president of the Student American Dental Hygienist’s group, which drew upon her leadership, organizational, and philanthropic skills. She was the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a presidential recognition awarded under the Obama administration to celebrate “the impact made in bettering our communities.” She has also received the Colgate S.T.A.R award for “compassion in patient care, enthusiasm for community service, and dedication to and enjoyment of the profession of dental hygiene.”

Candice is certified in non-surgical periodontal therapy, local anesthesia, and both laser bacterial reduction and laser-assisted periodontal therapy. She loves learning and expanding her education to keep up with the latest innovations in the dental field so that she can better serve her patients.

Candice chose to practice in Arizona because she feels that it is extremely important to make a positive impact within the community in which she lives. To her, dentistry is all about getting to know her patients individually and building relationships with them. Once that relationship has been established, she is better able to educate and help them achieve their goals of having a healthy mouth. Her ultimate goal is that each patient will leave the office feeling better than when they first came in.

Candice and her husband do not yet have any children, but they do have several horses, chickens, and two dogs. She loves going to the beach and and spending time with her family. She also loves animals and anything service related because she loves helping others.
